Since I haven’t updated in a long time, I will now use this blog as a tool for my branding course I’m taking. And maybe I will update om some other things too.
As our first assignment we to think and research about what a brand is and why it is important.
Branding, what is it and why is it important?
It’s a bit difficult to explain what a brand is, but still everyone knows. As a brand you look for ways to connect with your customers and trying to develop a lifelong relationship. A brand stands out among your competitors. Whether a brand is a start-up, a nonprofit or a product, the success is affected by how the brand is perceived.
The customer should be able to connect with a brand whether it’s by the visual effects, a certain smell, a taste or a movement. For example: a well-known brand comes up in your head if I say a red can and cola. Coca Cola is one of he biggest brands in the world and we all have some emotional connection with it. My connection is that the drink is refreshing and sweet. That’s why I like it but someone else may have a bad experience.
Branding is important because it gets more recognition to your company. One of the most important elements is the logo and often the logo is the company’s name. You can also connect the brand with different location or what the brand has built up. For example Fjällräven Kånken, when seeing and thinking about the backpack I see a trip into the woods and the mountains. I also think that the backpack is expensive but it is sustainable and won’t brake for couple of years.
By branding, you can increase your business value and generate new customers. With brands we can compare other brands and see what is better for us and the environment.
